During a person's life, more or less complex problems can appear in their oral cavity, the conservative treatment of which is insufficient or even wrong. In this case - and after the full diagnostic test is completed - we proceed with surgical treatment of the problem.
Common problems of the oral cavity that are treated surgically are:
- Obtaining a piece of lesion tissue for histopathological examination.
- Removal of small benign tumors from the mucous membranes of the mouth, tongue or gums (eg fibroids, salivary cysts, etc.)
- Disclosure-recognition of malignant processes and referral for treatment to maxillofacial surgeons.
- Disclosure of impacted teeth (for orthodontic movement or extraction).
- Restoration of tissue deficits with grafts and guided tissue regeneration techniques.
- Abscess drains.
- Rhizectomies,
- Enucleation or marsupialization of cysts.
- Treatment – restoration of periodontal damage.
- Bridle removal.
- Surgical molar extensions, ulvoplastic operations.
- Surgical placement of implants with simultaneous reconstructive techniques (regeneration of soft tissues, grafts, osteoconsolidation and osteoexpansion techniques, closed or open elevation of the sinus floor).
- Preprosthetic surgery.
In the treatment of the above problems and according to the indications, classic surgical tools, soft tissue lasers or ultrasound surgical tools (piezosurgical unit) can be used, with the aim of the best and most painless treatment of the patient.
